Non-Standard Cylinders for Industrial Use
By definition, a non-standard cylinder can be classified as anything that is bigger than a normal use cylinder, primarily those used in the agricultural industry. By non-standard cylinders we mean those that are at least 8 meters long and even longer or operate under high pressure conditions, both single stroke and telescopic cylinders. And Eurobalt Engineering is one of the biggest manufacturers of non-standard hydraulic cylinders for industrial use.
The longest cylinder that we have produced to date is a 32-meter-long single stroke cylinder for the mining industry. However, the use of these types of cylinder is not limited to the mining industry. Here are some of other places where a telescopic or single stroke cylinder operating at high pressure can come in handy.
There are also other industries where cylinders of this size and magnitude come in handy, but these are the few where the of non-standard hydraulic cylinders has been prevalent for a long time now.
Things to Consider When Ordering Your Non-Standard Hydraulic Cylinder
While a hydraulic cylinder in operation looks like a simple device, there are many things to take into consideration when it comes to manufacturing non-standard cylinders. As industrial cylinders will be required to lift more, press harder and push farther, there needs to be a clear understanding of how a cylinder works and how you can get maximum output from your cylinders. Here are a few things to consider:
There are also other factors, such as pressure, cylinder position, working temperature, that should be considered while ordering a non-standard hydraulic cylinder. The position determines the outer build and bearing of the cylinder while temperature needs to be looked at while using the seals and metal used in manufacturing. The operating pressure is a choice and the material used can be selected accordingly, but it also determines the longevity of the cylinder.
Manufacturing of Non-Standard Cylinders at Eurobalt Engineering
We have been working in the sphere of hydraulic cylinder manufacturing for a long while now. Manufacturing normal cylinders is a major part of our business, however, what we have excelled at in recent years is the manufacture of complex, non-standard hydraulic cylinders. We are competitive in our prices and provide quality that is above the quality standard of ISO.
Whether is single stroke or telescopic, it does not matter as we have turned our years of hydraulic cylinder manufacturing into focusing on the process of building the best non-standard cylinders in the market today.
Testing of Non-Standard Hydraulic Cylinders at Eurobalt Engineering
There is no workbench where we could test a 15-meter-long hydraulic cylinder in the similar way we can do it with normal hydraulic cylinders. The issue is the length of the cylinder that causes a problem when one uses a test bench. So, we use small cranes to lift a cylinder with a rope tied around the middle of the cylinder. Lifting it above the ground, we can check both forward and backward movements of the rod as the oil is allowed to move the piston.
This way we can see that the seals are holding and there is no oil leakage. All the materials we use are qualified and comply with industry standards and our clients have a choice of seals they want to be used in their cylinders. We also provide a 1-year-warranty for all our cylinders with possibility of additional years depending on the situation. As long as the cylinders operating comply with the specifications listed during production, we will provide you with replacement cylinders if necessary.
