Tungsten carbide parts for mining and drilling equipment
Tungsten carbide is one of the hardest materials on earth, according to the Mohs Hardness Scale, the compound ranks above 8 on the qualitative scale. This is why the earthmoving industry and those involved in drilling and mining rely on different components made from tungsten carbide to get the job done, even in the most challenging situations.
The unique feature of tungsten carbide is that it can be shaped into various forms and sizes. At Eurobalt®, we specialize in making components from tungsten carbide.
Why use tungsten carbide components for drilling and mining equipment?
Drilling and mining are already difficult, but with the help of tungsten carbide components there is one less thing to worry about. Even the toughest of surfaces can be breached with tungsten carbide.
Unless you drill through diamond, there is no doubt that tungsten carbide components are perfect for your drilling and mining equipment. So, here are a few reasons to consider tungsten carbide parts for your drilling and mining attachments and inserts:
Whether drilling and mining equipment is used in the rural areas or urban hubs, tungsten carbide parts are effective and perfect for difficult tasks such as drilling and mining.
Tungsten carbide components manufactured by Eurobalt for the drilling and mining industries
Tungsten carbide may be strong, but it can also be pressed into various shapes and sizes. The hard compound is mixed with binding agents and then pressed with a high amount of pressure and heat to take the required shape.
Here are a few components made from tungsten carbide that we manufacture for drilling and mining equipment:
All the machines in our factories can be calibrated according to your requirements. We can manufacture any part from tungsten carbide, and volume is not an issue either. Any parts used in the drilling and mining industries can be manufactured in-house and with great efficiency.
A look into our manufacturing process and capabilities of tungsten carbide components for the drilling and mining industries
When powdered tungsten is heated with carbon black at between 1400-1600° C, tungsten carbide is formed. Turning that tungsten carbide into a desired shape requires mixing the compound with
another powdered metal, primarily cobalt.
The mixture is pressed under high pressure and the final product is formed by means of sintering. After the shape is given, sintering takes place in a hot furnace at temperature between 1350-1400° C. Cobalt acts as a binding agent and holds the structure together, like cement. This is also the reason why components made from tungsten carbide are called cemented carbide.
Our factory has a floor space of 5,000 sq. meters, and all the machines required for manufacturing of drilling and mining equipment are located on our premises. From ball mill machine to sintering furnace and CNC machines, we have all the technologies to meet your requirements.
Our factories are running safely with an expected output of between 80-100 tons of tungsten carbide blank parts per year, even in this challenging time. We also manufacture around 35-40 tons of machined parts that have high precision requirements annually.
Why choose Eurobalt® for your drilling and mining needs?
Whether you need a small heavy-duty bushing or a massive drill for creating a hole through a sturdy surface, we manufacture it all. Our quality assurances will definitely meet your standards, and we pride ourselves on being on time, all the time.
You can rest assured that you will not find a better partner in your endeavor than us when it
comes to tungsten carbide components for drilling and mining equipment.
